Eucalpytus radiata

Description:

ERAD4.jpgGenerally regarded as the finest of the therapeutic cineole-type Eucalyptus oils, Eucalpytus radiata (also known as the Narrow-leaved Peppermint Gum, also as Eucalyptus australiana) is characterized by a crisp, clean cineole aroma lifted by citrus/floral backnotes. It is produced via steam distillation from the leaves and terminal branchlets. Its main component is 1,8-cineole (approximately 75%).

Eucalpytus radiata oil is used mainly in aromatherapy, cosmetics, and confectionery. Its 1,8-cineole content leads to the best therapeutic effects, yet it is one of the few eucalyptus oils that can be safely used in cosmetics and aromatherapy applications for children.

Summary of Uses:

  • Therapeutic formulations, particularly for inhalation
  • Antimicrobial
  • Recommended concentration in formulations: 1.0% to 5.0%
